On January 5th, 2013, 9:00 AM, MCC kicks off its First session of the year of Walk to Run at the Walter Reed Community Center in Arlington, VA.
After the orientation, you will embark on a one-mile walk – no more, no less.
Every Saturday thereafter through April, you’ll meet for a group workout, first walking, then running, on local bike trails and the National Mall. You’ll repeat each Saturday group workout on your own, at least twice during the following week. And, at the end of the program, you’ll complete a 5K race of your choice and “graduate” to a life of physical fitness through regular exercise.
Along the way, certified coaches will guide you, share their experience, and give you the basics on training theory, footware, running clothing, nutrition, hydration, and race preparation. We were all beginners once; you are in good company.
